Easy step to Save Money: by cutting the cord & having more access than ever before

Almost every person gets freaked out when they get their cable and satellite bill. But all thanks to the new technology and unlimited streaming services there is a much better alternative for the cables. If you are fed up paying hundreds of dollars on cord cable and still not getting the desirable service, then you better switch to the live TV or Network TV.

Here’s how you can really save money by cutting the cord.

Decide Whether Cord Cutting is Right for you or Not:

The answer is pretty obvious, but you need to sleep through it to make sure that’s what you want. As you take the plunge, the new contracts, activation fee, and other charges will be there. And commonly, the new connection seems like a more expensive deal.

To help with the decision you need to consider a few points:

  • Figure out how much your cable and satellite bill is.

  • Make an average of the money you spend on a cable connection.

  • Contact the Service Provider to whom you want to switch and ask about the exact price related.

  • Compare both the price and offers, and then decide which one is better.

The main goal is to save money and making sure that you still have access to the latest TV series, movies, news, and other things you like a watch. But as the trend to switch from cords to Network TV became popular, the cable companies also switched to better offers at decent costs. But the thing worth mentioning is that cutting the cord can save nearly $150 per month. Thus, you will be making a big saving for the year.

But if you’ve made a final decision to switch to some other streaming services, then you need to make sure that your internet speed is good enough for the streaming. Some better options that you have as you are cutting the cord are given below.

Watching Live TV without Cable:

As there are several options available other than traditional cables, you will face difficulty to choose between the options. You can subscribe for a streaming service or install the antenna. But the final decision would be yours entirely. So, figure out a way to choose between TV, streaming stick, a set-top box, or a game console.

Watch Local Stations with Antenna Service:

The cheapest model will be installing an antenna service. The new technology has also improved the antenna service and now they work better than before. You’ll have access to most of the local stations for free. Just buy a good antenna and hook it up in the right direction. But remember that the antenna with catch signals of the local channels only and the other channels that are available in your area.

Hulu with Live TV:

With Hulu, you will have an option to get a subscription for various channels. The most popular offer is Hulu With Live TV. You will be able to see live channels, sports, news, kid’s content, and access to the unlimited library of streaming content. The cost of this service would be $40 per month which includes cloud DVR and unlimited screens. If you like, you can also add a Showtime subscription in your package.

Sling TV:

Sling TV provides you with a package with no contracts and various options. There are three different packages which range from $25 to $40. Along with the main pack, you can also add up other mini bundle packs for sports, news, lifestyle, comedy, and kid’s premium channels. The Sling TV subscription is available for a wide range of devices which involves TV, video players, tablets, mobile phones, gaming consoles, laptops, and computers too. They also provide a Cloud DVR so that you can record your shows and watch them anytime.

With Sling TV, you only need to pay for what you watch. You can also have a trial for Sling TV for 7 days to test how well it works, HERE.

PlayStation Vue:

If you already own a PlayStation, then it will be better for you to choose PlayStation Vue. It is a live streaming TV service which has no contracts and you’ll also get a Cloud DVR. You have a choice to choose between four plans ranging from $45-$80 per month. Along with the package, you’ll also get some standalone channels that can be added to the package. Luckily, PlayStation Vue also has a 5-day trial before you choose the plan which you want to try out.

YouTube TV:

You can also switch to YouTube TV if you like to. But YouTube TV isn’t available in all areas. With this service, you can watch live streaming TV from plenty of networks including ABC, FOX, NBC, CBS, and other cable channels too. The good thing is that its Cloud DVR has no storage limit. You can access YouTube TV on any device and there is a fixed package of $40. You’ll also get an option to add Showtime, Fox Soccer Plus, Starz, and other networks for additional charges.

The main reason why streaming services are more popular is that they have tons of content accessible which aren’t available on cable. You can get Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Vudu, and other online streaming service subscriptions. If you want, then you can also have access to network websites, CBS All Access, HBO, Showtime, and Starz at different prices.

The best way to stay connected to the premium cable channels when you cut the cord is to connect with the stand-alone subscriptions. These services can be subscribed without signing a contract or having cable or satellite deals.

HBO Now cost $15 per month; CBS All Access is available at $6 with commercials and $10 without commercials. Other than these, Showtime and Starz subscription is way cheaper than HBO now and they also have free trials available. So, the time has come for you to leave the old traditional cords and contracts behind. Buy plans like Sling TV, PlayStation Vue, or YouTube TV to stay connected with the world.

As I mentioned I went with Sling TV and high-speed internet. Ultimately saving my friends and me several hundreds of dollars a month. I was paying over $230 for a bundled deal, cutting the cord has changed everything for me. This was the first step I took in cutting back and saving.
